INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

   

All India Institute of Medical Sciences was estalished by an Act of Parliament of 1956, as an autonomous institution of national importance and its objectives and functions were defined.

By virtue of this Act, the institute awards its own medicaldegrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions.  The degrees and diplomas awarded by the institute under the All India institute of Medical Sciences Act are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that act entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from other universities of India.

     

ELIGIBILITY

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

Essential Qualification:

He/she shoud have passed the 12th Class under the 10 + 2 Scheme or Senior Schol Certificate Examination or an equivalent examination of a recognised Board of nay Indian State with English and Medical Group of subjects, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology).

Minimum Aggregate:

He/She should have obtained a minimum of sixty percent (60%) marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC/ST Students) in the four compulsory subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Age:

He/She has attained or will attain the age of seventeen (17) years as on the 31st of December of the year of admission. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1st January of next year or later will not be eligible to appear at the competitive entrance examination.

Nationality:

He/She is an Indian Citizen

For foreign candidates:

Foreign candidates nominated by the Government of India are required to have obtained a minimum of fifty percent (50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistyr and Biology) in their Pre-Medical / Intermediate Science or an equivalent examinations to be eligible for admission to the M.B.B.S course.

     

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION

 

 

 

 

   

Integrated First Degree Programmes to which admissions are made on the basis of BITSAT – BITS Admission Test.

The competitive entrance examination will be of 3.5 hours duration and will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and assertion-reason type) questions, from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge.

     

SYLLABUS

   

There is no prescribed syllabus for Medical Entrance Examination held by All India Institute of Medical Sciences. As this exam is most prestigious in India and the competition is tough so a medical aspirant must have graduate level knowledge.

The general standard of the Competitive Entrance Examination will be that of 12th class under the 10 + 2 Scheme / Pre-Medical /Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination of an Indian University.
