INTRODUCTION
|
|
All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is held for the candidates seeking admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree courses in different engineering colleges and institutes in India. The exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI). A centralized counselling system is provided for filling up the available seats all over India. This counselling is available only for the candidates who stand in merit of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). |

ELIGIBILITY
|
|
Nationality: Only Indian nationals are eligible to appear in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination.
Age Limit: The candidates whose age lies between 16-24 years of age on the first day of October of the year of examination. Schedule cast (SC), schedule tribe (ST) and physically handicapped (PH) candidates has been given 5 years of relaxation in the upper age limit. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate is considered as authentic.
Educational Qualification : For appearing in All India Engineering Entrance Examination [AIEEE] is :
- The 10+2 level examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Education Examination.
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
- Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
- Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or abroad recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
- H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
- A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
- 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by All India Council for Technical Education {AICTE} or a State Board of Technical Education.
The contents are informative in nature. Candidates are advised to refer to the notice published on Official Websites or other sources and official notification of the exam conducting authority.
Foreign Nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
Admission of foreign students, persons of Indian origin and Indian nationals living Abroad, in centrally funded institutions, i.e. National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABVIITM), Gwalior, National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi, North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Itanagar and Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal shall be as per Ministry of Human Resource Development’s letter No.F.21-2/2001-TS.I dated 14.05.2001. Educational Consultants India Limited is the coordinating agency and single window facility for admission under this scheme.

Educational Qualification :
A candidate who has passed the Qualifying Examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology / Electronics as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible for Engineering and Technology courses. (40% of marks in Qualifying Examination in case of SC, ST & OBC Category candidates.) Provided that, the marks obtained by candidate in Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology / Electronics in the qualifying examination, will be considered in place of Chemistry for the purpose of determination of eligibility in respect of Engineering and Technology courses.
A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study along with other subjects and obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate in all subjects, is eligible for Architecture course. Provided that all the candidates, including the SC, ST & OBC Category candidates, who are interested in admission to Architecture course, should appear for both PART –1 & PART – 2 of the Aptitude Test compulsorily and obtain an aggregate minimum of 40% marks in both PART –1 & PART – 2. Marks obtained by the candidates in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in the Common Entrance Test will not be taken into account for determining the merit / rank, for admission to Architecture course.

Language of the Question Papers: Candidates can opt for All India Engineering Entrance Examination question paper either in English or in Hindi. The option has to be selected while filling the Application Form.
Scoring & Negative Marking.
It should be noted for the candidates that for each incorrect response, one third of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. All objective type questions are required to be answered on specially designed machine gradable answer sheets.
